Introduction
Rainbow Donkeys consists of four 16-Year-Old boys from Melbourne, Australia. We created Rainbow Donkeys as a way of showing off our games to the world. We are currently creating mobile games for the iOS App Store and hopefully, in the future, move to other platforms. Our current game in progress is called Barrel Bros. In this game, the aim is to pop falling barrels with your finger, before they reach your gold at the bottom. We have spent many months working on this game, and you can finally download it! History
Rainbow Donkeys was formed at a Computer Games Boot Camp at Monash University (Melbourne) in 2014. We began developing Barrel Bros, and have been working on it since. We work well together, because we are all good at different things. We have a coder, two computer artists and an animator. Together, all our roles create awesome games and we hope that in the future, we will have many more games to show, and we look forward to sharing our work to the World.
Barrel Bros is the first game that we have created. The game is all about protecting your gold from the explosive hazards that are the barrels. There are 6 different types of barrels, each with its own unique properties. During the game, you can encounter certain modes such as a Frenzy Mode (Gold Barrels fall from the sky giving you extra points, but are double the speed) and Ice Mode (where the barrel rate triples, but are much slower in speed). These modes make the game extremely enjoyable and exciting to play. Another feature we have in the game is the slot machine. You can win prizes, consumables such as lives and boosts, and even unlock new themes, music and levels. We have built many different themes in the game, where each one differs from the one before; some make the gameplay harder, others make it easier. But the themes selection gives customisation and variety to the game. We also have a shop system, achievements to complete, a level and ranking system and a special mini-game called Flappy Donkey. Flappy Donkey is unlocked if you can get 3 donkey heads in the slot machine and is similar to the infamous game, 'Flappy Birds'. But this time, enemies come in and out of the pipes making it a harder and more enjoyable experience. Overall, Barrel Bros is a great game and we strongly recommend it to all those with an iOS device!
